Why Khajjiar is famous?

Khajjiar Himachal Pradesh is famous for its greenery, adventure, and beautiful views. Khajjiar is a small town located near Dalhousie which is also known as the "Mini Switzerland" of India. it is situated at an altitude of 1920 meters above sea level in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. There are beautiful deodar trees around this Khajjiar lake. The Khajjiar Lake is small but beautiful and attractive it is surrounded by green meadows and dense forest. 

Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary is known for the wide variety of flora and fauna found here. In this sanctuary, monkeys, jackals, bears, deer, panthers, and Himalayan black marten as well as fascinating birds. 

Khajji Nag Temple is one such temple dedicated to Nags (serpents) built in the 12th century. Explain that this temple is mainly a wooden structure, whose main deity is Khajji Nag. If the research is to be believed, the construction of this temple started in the 10th century AD. A huge number of devotees visit this temple every day. If you are going to visit Khajjiar then you must go to visit Khajji Nag Temple.

What is the best time to visit Khajjiar?

You can visit Khajjiar at any time of the year. But Oct, Nov, and March, April is the best time to go. In the months of January and February, Khajjiar gets very cold, due to which snow falls here, due to difficult to go here.

How To Reach Khajjiar By Flight

Khajjiar does not have an airport. The nearest airport is located at Gaggal near Kangra (Dharamsala) at a distance of about 120 km. One can easily get taxis or buses from Gaggal airport to Khajjiar.

How To Reach Khajjiar By Road

There are HRTC and Punjab Roadways frequent bus services from Pathankot to Dalhousie. You can also hire a taxi to Khajjiar.

The nearest railway station to Khajjiar is Pathankot Cantt. It is situated at a distance of about 118 km. You can hire a taxi or bus from Pathankot to Khajjiar.
